AnywhereCommerce and Stratus Technologies Mexico Partner to Deliver EMV®-Compliant mPOS Services for EVO Payments International’s Operations in Mexico, Servicios de Pago Banamex

MONTREAL, October 27, 2015 – AnywhereCommerce, a global payments solutions provider, announced that it has partnered with Stratus Technologies Mexico, a leading provider of availability solutions, to provide EMV-certified mobile payment acceptance services to Servicios de Pago Banamex, a subsidiary of EVO Payments International. Stratus Technologies Mexico has integrated AnywhereCommerce’s Walker EMV card acceptance device for smartphones and tablets with its Moneta Pay mPOS app to power EVO Payments International’s iAcepta mobile payments service throughout Mexico.

“We selected the Walker device because of AnywhereCommerce’s reputation for delivering highly reliable and secure mobile payments solutions,” said Jaime González Gasque, Director Comercial for Stratus Technologies México. “In addition, the fact that Walker is EMVCo L1 and L2 certified, Visa Ready and MasterCard certified ensures safe and secure transactions for Banamex customers.”

Gonzalez Gasque noted that creating a mobile-centric environment has been the longstanding goal of financial services providers in Mexico. “Since September of 2013, Servicios de Pago Banamex has led the way with its iAcepta offering, which is processing more than 100,000 transactions totaling more than 100 Million Mexican Pesos—or approximately six million US dollars—each month.”

iAcepta service supports iOS and Android™ mobile operating systems to ensure compatibility with the smartphones and tablets that merchants already use. Walker employs AnywhereCommerce’s patented audio-jack connection technology and encryption to ensure the privacy of sensitive financial information.

In September 2015, EVO Payments International, a global payment processor and merchant acquirer headquartered in New York, acquired the merchant acquiring business of Citigroup in Mexico, operated through Banco Nacional de Mexico. As part of the transaction, EVO entered into a long-term strategic marketing alliance that includes an exclusive referral arrangement covering card acquiring and related products for Banamex’s merchant customers.

“Together with EVO and Stratus Technologies Mexico, AnywhereCommerce is at the forefront of creating new forms of payment acceptance across the regional landscape,” said William Nichols, AnywhereCommerce’s President and CEO. “Through this solution, Servicios de Pago Banamex is expanding its market penetration by offering innovative solutions that benefit Mexican businesses and consumers.”

Walker is an integral component of AnywhereCommerce’s mSuite portfolio of payment acceptance solutions, which include mobile apps, its aCommerce international gateway, an advanced management platform, merchant software applications, integration and development tools, and a range of card acceptance hardware for EMV (PIN and Signature), and magnetic stripe operation. The company also delivers turnkey end-to-end mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) solutions as well as integration to existing commerce applications through its CorePay SDK and development toolkits.
